Fast-Track Health and Geovitas Announce
Climate-Resilient Urban Health Partnership
WASHINGTON, DC, USA, AND CHENNAI, INDIA | 5 August 2026 — Fast-Track Health and Geovitas, a technology-led company developing climate solutions space, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding establishing a two-year collaboration to advance climate mitigation, climate adaptation, and person-centered urban health across the global Fast-Track Cities network.
Through the partnership, Fast-Track Health and Geovitas will help municipal governments integrate climate, environmental, emissions, and health data into urban planning and decision-making. The collaboration recognizes that climate change, environmental degradation, communicable and non-communicable diseases, and widening health inequities are interconnected challenges that require coordinated, data-informed responses.
“Climate change is already shaping who becomes ill, which communities bear the greatest health burdens, and whether urban health systems can withstand the shocks ahead,” said Dr. José M. Zuniga, President/CEO of Fast-Track Health. “Our partnership with Geovitas will help cities move from recognizing those connections to acting on them using actionable intelligence to reduce emissions, strengthen resilience, protect populations experiencing disproportionate risk, and ensure that health is treated as a central measure of climate progress.”
An initial pilot will introduce the Geovitas Carbon Intelligence Tool (CITI; CLIMATE INTELLIGENCE FOR TRANSITION AND IMPACT) in a cohort of up to four Fast-Track Cities. Participating cities will receive support to establish emissions baselines, assess climate-related risks, identify adaptation priorities, model potential scenarios, and evaluate health threats associated with excessive heat, air pollution, flooding, vector-borne diseases, and extreme weather events. Following a joint evaluation of the pilot, the partners will determine opportunities to extend the initiative to additional cities.
“When a city commissioner sits across from us and asks where to spend their next city budget on climate action, the honest answer requires knowing exactly where emissions are highest, which communities face the greatest risk, and what each rupee of intervention returns. What we have built turns a city’s own data into decisions its leaders can defend to their councils, their funders, and their citizens” said Venu Puthussery, Co-Founder and CEO of Geovitas. “Fast-Track Health brings the global network and the urban health depth. Geovitas brings the ground-level intelligence infrastructure. Together, we can help cities stop planning for climate change and start governing through it.”
The collaboration will also strengthen municipal capacity through technical assistance, training, peer-learning exchanges, climate-health assessments, scenario modeling, and the development of city-specific investment cases. Fast-Track Health and Geovitas will work with participating cities to quantify the health co-benefits and potential return on investment associated with climate interventions and to develop the data systems, monitoring frameworks, and evidence required to pursue climate, resilience, and health financing. The Fast-Track Cities Institute will serve as a supporting partner, contributing technical assistance, data expertise, and alignment with Fast-Track Health’s person-centered urban health framework.
